made from vegetable tanned Italian leather cut to size and finished with 2 holes on each to tie on the leather thonging
* 4 lengths of matching leather thonging
* 4 leather 'washers' to go inside your bag for strength

Materials

All the leather we use is a by-product of the European food industry and comes from Italian or Belgian tanneries. Where possible, we use vegetable tanned leather which is preserved with botanical extracts from Mimosa, Québracho and Chestnut barks. Vegetable tanning is a slower, kinder means of production that has less impact on the environment, and results in a stronger leather where the fibres of the original skin are preserved.

Leather bag handles

I was browsing the web looking for some handles for a bag I wanted to make ( not crocheted yet) and these leather handles were exactly what I was looking for. They are excellent quality and feel really nice and soft. I am sure they will wear in beautifully. The holes for stitching line up perfectly with the backing piece of leather holes. Beautifully made. The leather thongs for stitching the two pieces together are sturdy and quite thick. I have some leather needles but not sure if I have any with that big of an eye but I will make it work. I love the colour of my handles, it is exactly right and I am looking forward to making my bag. Thank you so much. 😊

Hi Karen, thanks for such a great, in depth review. I'm glad you like the leather handles. The thonging is designed to just push through the holes with your hands (no needle required!!). But obviously, you'll need to make a hole in whatever material your bag is too!
