Leather Needle Thread was founded by Esther Keen in 2016.  I have been a leatherworker for over 10 years and studied bag design and construction at the London College of Fashion before going on to work in the industry as a leatherworker and sample maker.

I love leather, designing and sewing.  Each workshop has been thoughtfully designed to enable leathercraft beginners and people who have a little experience with leather and sewing to hand make beautiful, functional leather bags, small accessories and shoes in just a few hours using simple techniques, and a few key leatherwork tools. I want to give people the skills and knowledge so that they can recreate what they've learnt at home.

Carefully sourced full grain vegetable tanned leather means that each piece handmade in a Leather Needle Thread workshop will be full of integrity and long lasting.

Workshops last from 3 hours to 2 days and take place in the light-filled Leather Needle Thread studio in Montpelier and in collaboration with Nineteen in Clevedon, the Holburne Museum in Bath and the Folk House in central Bristol.
